Commercial property insurer, FM Global, has named Tan Hian Hong to the role of vice president, division underwriting manager, Asia operations, based in Singapore, while Hamish Ravindran moves up to take on the role of vice president, client service manager, Asia operations. Both roles will be based in Singapore and will report to Alex Tadmoury, senior vice president, Asia Pacific division manager.

Tan joined FM Global in 2004 as a consultant engineer and was most recently vice president, client service manager for its Asia operations. Prior to joining FM Global, he worked as a process engineer for ABB Lummus Global in Singapore, Bloomfield, NJ USA, and The Hague in the Netherlands on engineering design packages for petrochemical plants. Tan holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the National University of Singapore.

Ravindran joined FM Global as a consultant engineer in 2002 and has held various positions including most recently operations vice president, assistant client service manager for its Asia operations. Prior to joining FM Global, he worked for Malaysia’s power utility company, Tenaga Nasional Berhad, as a commissioning engineer. Ravindran holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a master’s degree in business administration with a specialization in finance from the SP Jain School of Global Management (Singapore Campus).
